Biblical Doing
As children of light, we are to stay spiritually awake and prepared for Christ’s return, encouraging one another to live with faith, love, and hope.
- The Day of the Lord is sudden and unexpected (vv. 1–3) – it will come like a thief in the night, bringing judgment to the unprepared.
- Believers are children of Light, not darkness (vv. 4–5) – our identity in Christ means we will not be overtaken by that day.
- Stay spiritually alert and sober (vv. 6–8) – live watchfully, armed with faith, love, and hope as protective armor.
- God appointed us for salvation, not wrath (vv. 9–10) – Christ died so we may live with Him, whether in life or death.
- Encourage and build one another up (v. 11) – the church must comfort and strengthen each other as we await His return.

- G – Guard with Faith, Love, and Hope (vv. 6–8): Ask daily: Am I trusting God in faith? Loving others sacrificially? Anchored in hope of salvation?
- H – Hold Fast to Assurance (vv. 9–10): When facing trials, rest in this truth: God has not destined me for judgment but for eternal life with Jesus.
- T – Together Encourage (v. 11): Be intentional about speaking words of encouragement. Send a text, pray with someone, or remind a brother/sister of Christ’s return this week.
