Biblical Feeling
God calls us to submit our desires, plans, and pride to Him in humble repentance, trusting His will above our own.
- True Unity Flows from Christlike Humility: Believers are called to live in harmony by valuing others above themselves and serving one another in love. (vv. 1–4)
- Jesus is the Ultimate Example of Humility: Christ, though fully God, emptied Himself, became a servant, and obeyed to the point of death on a cross. (vv. 5–8)
- God Exalted the Humble Christ as Lord of All: Because of His obedience, God exalted Jesus and gave Him the name above all names—every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that He is Lord. (vv. 9–11)
- Believers Must Live Out Their Salvation: We are called to actively work out our salvation with reverence, not to earn it, but to live in light of it—especially in personal responsibility and obedience. (v. 12)
- God Empowers Us to Obey: We can live the Christian life because God is at work in us—changing our desires (“to will”) and enabling our actions (“to do”) for His pleasure. (v. 13)
